Fundraising
Please keep in mind that the swimmer's dues alone do not cover all the swim club's operating expenses. In an attempt to defray some of the costs when involved with being a member of a local competitive team, the Tiger Shark team organizes fund raising events to keep the cost of participation to a minimum.
NRATS Fundraising Policy for 2008 Summer Season:
"Each family is required to work in 1 summer fundraising event with $200 volunteer deposit check to be held or pay $100 volunteer commitment check to be cashed. Each family must also attend at least 1 parade. If you are returning in the Fall but not this Summer, you must still work in the summer or pay the $100 summer fundraising fee this fall when coming back."

Note from the Coach about ABC Standards:
LCM stands for Long Course Meters and denotes a 50 meter pool, which is an Olympic size pool. Generally an outdoor pool is 50 meters.
SCY stands for Short Course Yards and denotes a 25 yard pool. The pools we practice in are 25 yard.
A conversion from one to the other is only a rough estimate based on the difference between the distance and a slight factor for lack of turns. However, it rarely factors in the difference between endurance needed to swim the different lengths of the pool. Time standards are created using the top times in each age group and then averaged.
