New Richmond Area Tiger Sharks

Hi swim families!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Melissa Schulze. I am very excited to be back on staff, two days per week, as a co-lead coach with Ryan.

My first experience with competitive swimming was at age 8 when I swam for the Edina Swim Club, which sparked my passion for the sport. I swam in Minnesota for 8 years and then went on to teach swim lessons and lifeguard. As a sophomore at Iowa State University, I acquired my first head coaching job. I coached in Ames for the next few years until I graduated and then moved to Palm Springs, California where I coached Palm Desert Aquatics for nearly 2 years. I have been in New Richmond since September of 2004 working as the Head Coach of the Tiger Sharks.

I live in New Richmond withmy husband Brent, two daughters, Kira (4) and Ashlyn (2) and our dog Windsor. In addition to coaching, I work at the New Richmond Area Centre as the swim school coordinator. I also sit on church council and plan to begin substitute teaching soon. I have recently started my Master's of Educational Technology degree at Iowa State University. I enjoy spending time with my family, waterskiing, scrapbooking and more recently, golfing.

I am excited to be back on staff as a lead coach and I look forward to continuing the fantastic program that we have! See you at the pool!

My name is Ryan Sherley and I am excited to be one of the co-lead coaches.

Swimming has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Hudson and swam with HASA for eight years and with Hudson High School for four years. I started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons while in high school and also taught for three years after moving to Arizona. While in Arizona, I started a new swim team in Scottsdale and coached for two years before graduating from Arizona State University.

I currently live in Hudson withmy wife Jenny, son Aiden (2) and our dog Lucy. I also work at Keller Construction Company as a project manager for commercial construction projects. I enjoy spending time with my family, skiing and golfing.

I am really excited about coaching once again and look forward to meeting all of you. I look forward to working with Melissa to help continue this team's great reputation and work to help each of you improve and reach your goals.
