Swim Seasons

Our fall season typically runs from September to March. Our summer season typically runs from May to July.

Swim Group Levels

We have five separate group levels that focus on each swimmers abilities. To find out which level your child is at see NRATS Swim Group Levels. For new swimmers, the head coach will work with the swimmer to determine which level the swimmer should be placed in.

Spring 2011 Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are based on each swimmer’s level. Please see the NRATS Swim Group Levels page for our different levels. Tuition is charged as a season fee, with a monthly payment option available. Monthly family account statements will be emailed by the end of the month. Those payments are due the 10th of the following month.

Level Months of
Practice
Monthly Payment Season Payment
Tiny Tiger Sharks 2 $25 $50
Tiger 4 $50 $200
Shark 4.5 $65 $200
Silver 5 $70 $350
Gold 5 $75 $375
Elite 5 $80 $400

We have three payment options for tuition. Pay In Full: All families may use this option, but it will be one of the required options for families with a history of outstanding balances. Pay In Monthly Installments: Tuition can be paid in five (winter) or three (summer) installments with first payment due at registration and remaining payments due the first of the month. All new families, and returning families in good financial standing, may use this option. Statements will be issued to serve as reminders. Installment Pre-Pay: This is similar to the monthly installment option except that postdated checks are provided to the team sufficient to pay the tuition on the first of each month for the remaining balance. All families may use this option, but it will be one of the required payment options for swimmers with a history of outstanding balances. Families that become delinquent during the season will be required to switch to this option.

Late Fees

Payments will be considered late on the 11th day of the month and late fees will then be assessed.

  • First monthly assessment for season: $10
  • Second monthly assessment for season: $20
  • Third monthly assessment for season: $30

Any check returned for NSF will have a $25.00 NSF charge applied to the family tuition account to be paid to NRATS.

Fundraising Policy

Please keep in mind that the swimmer's dues alone do not cover all the swim club's operating expenses. In an attempt to defray some of the costs when involved with being a member of a local competitive team, the Tiger Shark team organizes fundraising events to keep the cost of participation to a minimum. Please review our Fundraising Policy.

Website Permission

The NRATS website exists to highlight our swimmers and their achievements. In order to do this effectively, we will be posting event photos and meet results online. Other information that might be included would be successful performance statistics – best times and awards. Information will be similar to that presented in a newspaper article. By signing the registration form, you give permission to include photos of and swimming information about your child on the website and local publications.

Team Apparel

Swimmers who compete at swim meets are representatives of NRATS. NRATS has chosen a plain black suit with the Orange stripes and the NRATS logo for our team. All swimmers are strongly encouraged to purchase team suits for competition, but not required. Other NRATS apparel, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, swim caps, etc. are also available for purchase. Please contact our apparel coordinator via the Contact page. Order forms and assistance with sizing will be available at registration night and during the first week of practice.

Splash Fees

Many of the meets we attend have Splash Fees. These fees may vary, but typically range from $2.50-$5.00 per swimmer and $1.50-$5.00 per event. Each month, the swimmer will receive an invoice with the total amount owed for any accrued fees. These fees must be paid in a timely manner, or swimmer may not be able to attend additional meets. All fees are non-refundable.

USA Swim Registration

USA Swim registration is required for all swimmers. Included in your USA Swim membership is insurance while in the pool (either at practice or at a meet). If you register for USA swimming during the Fall or Winter sessions (after September 1, 2010, your membership is good through December 2011). Fees paid for USA swim are non-refundable two days before practices start for the season.
